And yes, it turns out Rio is a Shaman. They say something triggered when he was possessed by Green Man, and he is now Shaman. Not a great explanation, but it’ll due for now. Anyway, Rio is distraught because he was part of the reason Amidamaru’s great sword of light was destroyed. But Anna calls back Mosuke, and he’ll use Rio’s body to help craft the new sword of light. She does, and there’s a reunion between Amidamaru and Mosuke that isn’t as good as I pictured. It’s not even really there, Mosuke says hardly anything. But before Rio can return the weapon, the gang is ambushed by three random bad guys that are ordered around by this random guy that has been lurking in the shadows for this episode. But Yoh pulls out a new weapon that apparently has part of Mosuke’s spirit in it or something, and it destroys them. It’s even stronger than the sword of light they say. Then Rio announces he’s kind of leaving the Dead Enders, then the creepy dude from before pops up and says he’d make a great Shaman, and that’s it. Then a large star pops up in the sky, and apparently that’s signal the Shaman tournament is going to begin. But it is also revealed that the thing could possibly end all humanity, and that that’s the real reason the tournament is going on, and the winner kind of decides that on top of the face of humanity, and all that heroic shit. Or evil, either or. Anyway, this episode again didn’t really feel like it was doing anything at all important, just kind of doing whatever. It didn’t feel important until the last five minutes, and a lot of the characters aren’t really being used how I want. What I saw in Anna from the video game isn’t being used, Trey hasn’t done anything but make poop jokes since his own episode, and Morty is kind of the weak sidekick, which he shouldn’t be. Only Rio is getting the attention he deserves, and I like Rio, but other people need the spotlight for awhile.
