Episode 51 Review (Day of Black Sun, Part 2: The Eclipse)

And the finale to Black Sun and the invasion goes off on a bang. Team Avatar tries to go after the Fire Lord by finding him in an underground tunnel. And then they stumble on Azula, who is helpless by the time the eclipse happens. Or so we think. She has Dai Li agents stall, and she just fucks with them. And sure the invasion happens, and the good guys take the city, but things don’t go well for long. Zuko makes the big talk with his father, but the moment the invasion ends, games over. Ozai attacks Zuko, but he uses his uncle’s move and shoots it back at him, then disappears. But Azula who stalled them by using Suki and her wit is just trolling along and is like, "oh, back on.” And yeah, she gets away, and the eclipse is over, and yeah, they get their asses kicked from that point on. Then the airships show up, and it’s just done. It’s done. The submarines are fucked, and the swamp people are tossed aside. So they decide the children will go on Appa’s back, and the adults will stay prisoner. And they leave, and the last shot is Zuko following them with an airship. Anyway, I loved this episode. It really holds you and draws you in. And Zuko’s talk with his father, that goes a long way for me. And Zuko and Aang, they just keep on failing and failing and you really root for them. Azula was as nasty as ever, and the Suki part was great. Anyway, amazing episode, loved everything from the fighting to how they handled it. The boulder approves.
