Raw Episode 1083 gets a 3/5
Last night we have our full on Road to Wrestlemania beginning, and yeah, looks like it’ll be a mixed bag this year. Some cool stuff, some not so cool stuff. But let’s jump into last night’s show. First, Hulk Hogan came back and looks like he’ll be hosting this year. And he didn’t take thirty minutes like the Rock, his was short and simple. It wasn’t this massive return, it was kept pretty dim actually. But it’s always cool to see Hulk, maybe even especially after the whole TNA thing. Then we had rematches… yay? Del Rio and Batista again, Orton talked crap and Del Rio got the roll up, what a fucking original way to go about the rivalry! But Batista finally opened the envelope and let loose some of those feelings of getting booed. And yeah, what I got was despite him respecting everyone having a voice, just deal with it. Whatever, I’m not looking forward to Batista and Orton stuff and so I have little to say. Then Cesaro fought Big E. That was actually pretty cool. It’s always nice to see two guys they’re trying to hype up at the same time, and yeah, looks like Cesaro might just be getting to big for the Real Americans, because it looks like they might be breaking up soon. Then there was the Cena and Wyatt promo, and did I mention Wyatt’s a fucking bad ass? And Cena’s not champ, it’s kind of awesome. He’s doing normal people air time, not being shoved in our faces, it’s nice! I like it! I don’t feel like I’m being forced to hate him. Then Sheamus fought Christian, and I don’t know what they’re doing with Christian. I mean, it seems they’re trying to do something with him before he bails. But to be honest, I think the main reason this match happened was for A, relevancy to get these guys doing something, and B, that cool finish. After that following Bryan’s little burst on Triple H (looks like they’re fighting at Mania. Yay?) there was Kane vs. Bryan, and about as typical as that match can do. But those two have history, they put on a good show. Then Summer Rae vs. Emma, and… I don’t usually hate wrestlers. I get annoyed and think they have too much air time, but I don’t hate Orton, Cena, Batista, etc. But I sort of hate Summer Rae and Emma… it’s really hard to watch. I know some think it’s so dumb it’s funny, but for me, no, it’s just stupid. All I have to say about that. As for Usos vs. Outlaws, the other rematch, it was cool. They had a couple minutes, didn’t exactly bury the Outlaws but still made the Usos look like bad asses. Then Reigns fought Bray, and it was dope. Kind of want a better ending, but it’s storytelling time, I don’t mind. But then there was the end with Undertaker and Brock Lesnar, and holy shit balls. Undertaker was fucking bad ass! I expected him to be a little more out of shape, not look cool, wouldn’t take his hood down, being held together, but maybe other people talking has got me thinking too much. He threw Brock threw that table and it was like seeing him wrestle when I was little again. You know back when he was wrestling Batista… funny how things work out. Anyway, good night, with a great end. Kind of saw it coming, but it eliminated my doubts, while Batista and Orton continued sewing the wounds that the universe has been screaming about since Royal Rumble. But I’m happy, it was a nice night. Hulk, Undertaker, double screen time for Bray Wyatt. Yep, definitely a happy camper.
