Episode 7 Review (The Spirit (World Winter Solstice Part 1))

Episode 7 Review  (The Spirit World (Winter Solstice Part 1))

I think I have enough parentheses in this episode title. Anyway this is the first two part in the Avatar series. And after stumbling on a burned down forest, the Aang Gang find a village being attacked by a giant monster, one that only can be defeated in the spirit world, and it happens to take Sokka. Aang for the first time enters the spirit world, finds the problem, figures out a future event that he is apart of, the two episode period. He learns the day of the solstice he will be able to speak to the past Avatar Roku, who will help him in his quest. Aang then takes care of the monster, making a monster turn into a soft cuddly panda, and then saves everyone in the town. The episode ends as he says they will have to reach Roku’s chamber the day of the solstice, but the island is in the middle of firebender territory. This alone probably would have gotten a six or seven, but they added a cool side story to it! We get to see as Uncle Iro gets captured, Zuko saves him even ignoring a chance to go after the Avatar, and it just helps a little bit more. And we don’t know much about the spirit world in Avatar, this is actually one of the few times we get to know about it. We know the Avatar is the bridge of the two worlds, and that does place Aang on a more epic playing level. Master of four elements, plus he could fit in an episode of Shaman King.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Episode 7 (The Spirit World (Winter Solstice Part 1)) gets a 4/5
