And the twenty-fifth annual episode review is here! It feels like only yesterday there was like hundreds of Naruto reviews left to cover, and… well there’s still hundreds of episodes left, but slowly but surely! Anyway, last time we left our ninjas they were excitedly writing a test, which is always a fun setting, right? Well it is when all the students have superpowers. Anyway this entire episode is featured around this big tenth question. But the tenth question has rules. If you get it wrong, you and your squad will never be able to become Chunin, and if you get it right you pass. But right before giving it, the proctor gave everyone the opportunity to immediately fail so to try again next year. A lot of people raise their hand, and start leaving by the trio. As Naruto didn’t answer a single question, and is a big idiot, this was almost designed to make him raise his hand. But behold Naruto kept his hand down, showing he had the confidence of a Chunin. Then big surprise, there was no tenth question, it was a test to see what you’d do in a lose lose situation, and Naruto and everyone else passed. It was suppose to make sure you wouldn’t get caught cheating, and to make sure you aren’t a coward. After that the proctor of the second exam shows up with a dramatic entrance (I hop she pays for that window she broke) and it ends as we barely begin the next stage of the exam. In the end it’s pretty cool and a big mind fuck of a test, but they really wasted a whole episode devoted to asking one question? I mean most anime could cover this whole thing in five minutes, and even though I like content, I couldn’t help but feel like they wasted a little time here. Still entertaining, and really helped raise the idea of how courageous Naruto is, and definitely not a bad episode. This is a solid six for me, and I say it good, and provides an interesting look of how strong the Chunin really are, physically and mentally.
