All right! So this episode starts with Sasuke beating the guy from the last episode, and then after he retreats the squad make a password, and it just happens to be long and complicated. Moments later they are ambushed once again, and this time by the crazy tongue lady from the last episode. The squad is separated, but Sakura rejoins Sasuke knowing the password. Then Naruto comes around with the password, but Sasuke tries to kill him again. (He knew it was a disguise, and that Naruto would never remember such a long password. He only made it long in case somebody was ease dropping on them) Then while tongue lady starts to fight the others and eat her scroll, we see that Naruto is attacked by a giant snake, and is later eaten by it. And as things are going bad to worse, tongue lady somehow paralyzes both Sakura and Sasuke by looking at them, and giving them a envision of their own death. Did I mention she ate her scroll? Anyway Sasuke breaks the freaky spell by slamming his kunai into his knee (not going to make a Skyrim reference) The pain somehow allows him to overcome his fear, and he grabs Sakura and runs. So no matter how you want to say it, technically Sasuke is emo, as he did cut himself. He might of done it to save his life, but you get the point. Meanwhile Naruto finally breaks out of his giant snake by using his massive amount of shadow clones to make the snake’s stomach burst from the inside. (Not animal cruelty at all) Then Sasuke and Sakura are attacked by their own giant snake, which after Sasuke tears its head open, the tongue lady emerges from it. But Naruto shows up to save the day where our episode leaves off. In the end this a really blow out way to start this exam. It’s thrown into the wall and gets intense immediately. And whenever Sasuke is shaking in fear, you know things got real. It’s a great episode, and really getting this arc a big kick. It’s really bad ass, and makes this test not look at all easy, in fact it looks more likely that all the teams will die after this. The pace is finally moving fast again, (or about how fast it can go in Naruto) which it hasn’t really felt like since the Land of Waves. This tongue lady who is totally not anyone else also is really creepy and you can’t help but wonder what the hell she’s doing in this exam for kids. It’s a great episode, and I’m excited for the next one.
