Business gets a 4/5
Welcome to the first Eminem review! I’ve decided to just review songs at random, but mostly I’ll be trying to review songs from the Eminem Show album first. And that brings us to our first song from the album, Business. This is the second song in the album, and a hell of a way to keep an album flowing. The song is basically about Eminem coming back and going Batman and Robin on the bad of Hip-Hop. Obviously when Eminem wrote this song he wasn’t referring to most of rappers nowadays, but I like to imagine it’s about them just to keep up to date for me. But the song makes Eminem look above all the crappy rappers out there. It makes him look like they are clowns in his industry and he’s coming back to destroy them all with this song. All though it’s called "Business,” it’s not really a serious song. It makes you think of Batman and Robin and it’s more a song where the desks gets pushed over on top of a crappy rapper. The beat moves along greatly with the lyrics, and the lyrics are already great by the time Eminem rhymes orange, multiple times. And yes, in my head I can imagine my own music video and can play with it in my mind, which really helps songs for me. Everything from the chorus to the little "Hell yeah,” I love. As far as sound goes this song sounds great, and that’s the most important part of a song. Eminem in this song seems to break down every syllable of every word and mashes them into a clever comedic-ish song. And that’s how Eminem works, he pronounces and enunciates the songs into fitting into what he wants to rap about, and it comes across brilliantly. With music I feel I mostly want to just review songs I like, and that’s why more songs like this I review. Eminem continued the album with a good diverse pace, and made the song that currently resides in my top ten Eminem song. (I still have a lot of listening to do however) It gets a solid, if not high eight, and is definitely a song I feel I could listen to for a long time, and when I’m done I’ll occasionally come back to it as I do with most Eminem songs. The song feels like it says Eminem is this comedic super hero come to save the day from crappy Hip-Hop. There are songs about the industry being crap, and song about taking on the crap, but it almost feels like Eminem is on another level when what he’s "taking on,” is nothing but clowns compared to him. I like when Eminem mentions bad music coming in, and I especially like when he makes songs almost dedicated to screwing with them like this. It’s definitely a bad ass song, and one that is really great when stepping back and looking at it.
