Episode 28 Review (The Chase)

Avatar: The Last Airbender Episode 28 Review (The Chase)

"I’M COMPLETELY CALM!!!!!!”
Whatever you say, Katara. Anyway, this episode is called the Chase, and who doesn’t love a good chase? This episode had every character doing something, literally everyone. The team is having arguments with the other, mostly over Toph being lazy, and her thinking she can hold her own weight, so she doesn’t need to help the others. And near the end of the episode she says she doesn’t want to be helped, as that’s how she grew up, so she doesn’t help others. Meanwhile Azula’s little hounds of destruction are chasing them, and continuing to near on them as the team gets more and more tired, and they’re following Appa’s trail as he sheds as Spring starts. Then the team’s fight starts, and Toph officially leaves. The team then takes her advice, washes Appa, and tries to throw Azula off by making Aang making another trail. Then Toph runs into Iroh, and they have tea. And yeah, it’s a really great scene. Meanwhile, Zuko is closing in on everybody else. Then Team Azula fights Katara and Sokka, and yeah, they get their asses kicked. Team Azula with no bending powers seem way better than them, and they were forced to escape. Then Azula, Zuko, and Aang have a big stand off, and are ready for things to go down. And then enter giant awesome action scene. Things are going on so fast, everyone is moving, it’s awesome. Then Iroh steps in, Toph appears out of nowhere, and everyone starts fucking shit up. Then everyone is on Azula, and all of the outcasts stand together. And then Azula attacks Iroh, and then manages to escape in an epic fiery escape. But the team goes to try and help Iroh, but then Zuko is just like, "LEAVE!” and it’s… man. The tone in his voice, and the edge he has in it. I thought it was awesome, and it really captured the panic and frustration in him in one word. After that a ending, and Toph and Katara are sleeping together, side by side, symbolizing their now no longer hating each other. Ultimately, this was a really good episode. This is like a standard Avatar episode, and just had so much going on, and going on just so fast. Character development, story, fun, action, you name it, it had it. Also, Iroh and Zuko are together again, I’m happy about that. Team Avatar is a group, and Toph has eased into her role completely now. Just another great episode.
